Winter at Walking Iron B&B

Well, in typical Wisconsin fashion, we went from air conditioning to heat, in a two week span, and now winter is upon us! This being our 15th winter in business, we have seen all types of winter activities represented during our guests’ stays with us- snowshoeing, downhill skiing, cross country skiing- but this winter marks the first year that we have a brand new, beautiful trail, just blocks from our doorstep!
Wolf Run Trail is a two mile, 10-foot wide crushed gravel path from downtown Mazomanie to Wisconsin Heights High School. The trail is open to the public year around for multiple recreational uses. What a great way to exercise, in the morning, before a hot breakfast- or take a brisk walk after dinner…either way, the meandering trail runs just feet from the Black Earth Creek and makes for a great compliment to your stay with us!
